A Look Back at Antigua’s CONCACAF Grassroots Course
St. John’s, Antigua – CONCACAF’s new Grassroots development program was launched in Antigua on Thursday morning, as the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association endorsed the regional body’s initiative.
The opening ceremony saw executive members of the Antigua FA, CONCACAF officials, members of the media and also the 31 participants from around the already buzzing 9 Grassroots community areas. The participants were also greeting by Caribbean Football Union President Mr. Gordon Derrick who gave encouraging opening remarks.
Antigua’s Ministry of Sports was also represented by Acting Director, Ms. Heather Samuel who gave encouraging words to all the participants of the course. Finally President of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association Everton Gonsalves could only continue with the positive message of encouraging the participants “to keep the good work going with helping young children to excel and become better footballers.”

Following the opening ceremony all of the Grassroots coaches gathered for the Saturday morning festival which saw over 150 kids from all over the island.
